There is a difference in a mono connection and a stereo connect. There can be differences between manufactures that can cause a working situation to stop working over time.

Not all mono or stereo jacks are created the same. This may work on some systems and not other systems. The truth is, this is not always correct.

Some think that you can use a stereo cable connected to these mono outputs on the radio and all will be OK. The radio will most likely have a mono 1/8” mini jack for either line (Record) out or headphone out. These instructions assume that the radio has a mono 1/8’ mini connector for the line or headphone output and the computer has a standard sound card with stereo 1/8’ mini connectors.īest audio from the scanner to the computer is via a line or record output and with this use of correct cable types. There may be other connection methods but some of them do not work reliably and may deliver poor results over time. This is the official Live Audio suggested method to connecting your radio and computer for a reliable and good quality audio feed. I've considered ffmpeg, but I don't know how to use ffmpeg on a video stream in a way that we can combine it with another stream and send it into Wirecast, if that's possible.Īn ideal solution would take a feed from our switcher and another feed from our presentation software, resize the presentation, combine it with the switcher feed, and send the result to Wirecast or Youtube.Setting up your Broadcasting Station Make sure to read the Broadcast Setup QuickStart article first! There are two video feeds I want to combine, a feed from presentation software and a feed from a camera filming a presenter, in a way that the presentation is smaller than full screen and moved to a corner. I want to find a way to resize a video input and combine it with another input so I can broadcast the video to Youtube. Our ATEM product is not one of the switchers that comes with DVE (aka the ability to resize video input). I'm working with ATEM Production Studio 4K from Blackmagic to switch between several video feeds that are broadcast using Wirecast onto Youtube from a Mac.
